Belonging Matters holds a number of events throughout the year to inspire, inform and build the capacity of people with a disability, families, allies, workers and professionals to enable people with disabilities to enjoy personally fulfilling and valued lives in the community. These include seminars, workshops, a bi annual retreat for families and various leadership events.

Towards A Better Life
19 and 20 March 2025
An exploration of the Social Role Valorisation framework with regard to people who are marginalised in society.
This 2 day event will inspire participants to reflect on the value of obtaining the good things in life and consider how we may support people who may have been marginalised or disadvantaged to have betterlives and greater involvement in their communities.

Are you wondering how to assist your loved one or the person you support build deeper, more meaningful friendships in the community?
This workshop is designed to empower loved ones and supporters of individuals with intellectual disability and autism with practical tools and strategies to foster genuine community connections.

Life After School
5 Sessions Online commencing 24 February 2025
Planning for life after school can seem daunting, especially when you have a developmental disability. The options may seem slim and limited, however with vision, preparation and planning it’s possible for young people with a disability to thrive after school.
This series of 5 sessions will assist families or advocates to plan and prepare an inclusive life in the community for their secondary school student after school. It will also enable the sharing of ideas and discussion.
