Asking is referred to as an art, yet as interdependent human beings, we depend on asking others for all manner of things. Even so, there comes a point at which we all freeze. The ask
becomes too big, and we begin to fear asking more than anything! This not only creates barriers in our own life, but as many authors in this edition suggest, our inability to ask has become one of the biggest barriers to creating inclusive opportunities in the lives of people with a disability. This edition explores the reasons behind our inability to ask and provides very useful strategies to empower us to ask so that great things can happen for people with a disability.
